KIMS Founding Purpose
KIMS is a non-profit-oriented research institution designed to promote various research and research related activities with the ultimate aim of creating policy-relevant foundations useful for Korea’s national security and maritime strategy.
Toward that end:
- KIMS pursues research activities designed to stress the importance of the sea and to propose policies and strategies relevant to national security and maritime
- KIMS endeavors to promote international friendship and peace through joint research projects and the exchange of information on such subjects as the law of the sea, maritime strategy, international security, maritime history and maritime economy.
Corporation foundation granted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries
Foundation registered at the Court of Justice
Institute began work, 6th flr Muhae Bldg, 375-32 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Institute relocated office to 5th flr Kumhwa Bldg, 158-1 Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Institute relocated to new KIMS Building, 460-1 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
